Part-Time Courses
Offered through BTEI - Back to Education Initiative

We offer part-time courses through the BTEI (Back To Education Initiative) Programme which provides part-time further education courses mainly for people who have not completed the Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification. It allows individuals to combine learning with family, work and other responsibilities. BTEI courses are FREE to eligible applicants and are provided at QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) levels 3-5, allowing learners to study part-time.

Elegibility criteria

The courses are free to adults over 18 (or their dependents) who left school with few or no formal qualifications or with low literacy levels.The criteria for eligibility for free tuition on a BTEI course includes one or more of the following:

Have less than upper-second-level education
In receipt of a jobseeker’s payment or means-tested social welfare payment
In receipt of a Family Income Supplement

Have a medical card
People signing for credits
Dependents of social welfare recipients

The courses are structured to provide learners with qualifications to develop the skills required for opportunities to progress to further education, training and/or pathways to employment.
